BFC Group Holdings W.L.L. (BFC Group) was established in January 2008 and are parented by Alkhair Holding B.S.C. (C). We specialise in global money transfers, foreign currency exchange and wholesale currency services. Through nearly a century of development the BFC name has grown into a highly reputable organisation globally.
Our History
We started in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 1917, trading in gold bullion and continually growing our services when in the 1970’s we entered the remittance market, giving the fast-growing expat community the opportunity to send their hard earned money home. We are licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain and now specialise in global money transfers, foreign exchange and wholesale currency services.
In 2008, we became part of BFC Group Holdings W.L.L. after Alkhair Holding, bought a controlling stake in BFC in Bahrain, Bahrain Exchange Company (BEC) in Kuwait and BFC Exchange Limited (formerly known as EzRemit Limited) in the United Kingdom.
Since then, due to great success, BFC Group has grown its retail operations even further, opening up BFC Forex & Financial Services PVT Ltd (BFC Forex) in India.
In 2018, BFC Group launched BFC Payments, licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) as an Ancillary Service Provider with permitted activities of Card Processing and Payment Service Provider.
In 2021, we successfully launch the BFC Pay App which offers a digital wallet (compliant with the WPS initiative by the LMRA and CBB) along with other features such as Money Transfer and Bill Payments.
In 2022, BFC Group successfully completed the sale of its UK Subsidiary, BFC Bank.

In 1917 Bahrain Financing Company (BFC) was first founded in Bahrain to trade gold bullion and foreign currency.
In 1992 Bahrain Exchange Company (BEC) was established and today is one of the leading foreign exchange and money transfer specialists in Kuwait.
In 2003 BFC Exchange Ltd (BFC Exchange) was formed in the United Kingdom and the same year EzRemit Money Transfer was launched.
In 2012 BFC Forex & Financial Services Pvt Ltd (BFC Forex) was established in India to facilitate incoming remittances from overseas and provide foreign exchange services.
In 2016 BFC Group launched its retail brand ambassador Bob, the BFC Buddy in line with the company’s renewed Vision, Mission & Values.
In 2017 BFC celebrates their centenary year in business.
In 2018, BFC Bank was launched and became fully operational in the UK.
In 2018 BFC Payments was established in Bahrain to facilitate card processing and payment services.
